If you run a UGC agency outside the US, in Turkey, Germany, the Philippines, anywhere, paying creators is the operational problem nobody warns you about.
Stripe Connect, the default for US-based agencies, is not available in many countries. Direct bank transfers cost $30 in wire fees and take five days. The four real options
Wise
The default for most non-US agencies. Wise Business gives you a multi-currency account. Fees are flat. Most creators in the US, UK, EU, Australia, and Latin America accept Wise. Fast, cheap, trusted. Limited support for some Asian and African markets.
Payoneer
Strong for paying creators in Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Wide geographic support. Fees can stack up and the UX is dated.
Stripe Connect via a US entity
If you have a US LLC or partner with one, you can use Stripe Connect. Fastest and cheapest at scale. Requires a US business entity.
Crypto
A small but growing number of creators accept stablecoin payments. Near-instant, low fee. Most US and EU creators do not accept it and tax reporting is messy.
What creators actually prefer
Based on community discussion: US creators prefer direct deposit, EU and UK and AU prefer Wise, Eastern Europe and Asia and LatAm prefer Payoneer. If you are a non-US agency, your default should be Wise for Western creators and Payoneer for the rest.
The hidden cost: reconciliation
The actual problem with international payments is not the fee. It is the reconciliation. You pay 30 creators a month from three different platforms. If you do this in a spreadsheet, you will eventually pay someone twice or pay nobody at all. The fix is one source of truth that answers did-I-pay-this-person in under 10 seconds.
The Turkey case
If you are in Turkey, Stripe is not directly available. Gumroad is the default for accepting payments from brands because they handle global billing in USD. Wise lets you receive USD and pay out USD globally. Gumroad in, Wise out. Not glamorous. It works.
